SAFETY POLICY & COMPLIANCE

Wilkins Mechanical is committed to ensuring all job sites are operating at the safest levels possible. All safety policies maintained by Wilkins meet, and many exceed, the current Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) standards.

Tailgate Safety Meetings are conducted daily to ensure everyone on site is aware of all current health and safety issues.

The Wilkins Mechanical Safety Management Team:

  • Provides safety education and training programs to all personnel
  • Educates and trains all personnel in “Safe Practices”
  • Evaluates and interprets all safety regulations applicable to all situations
  • Maintains technical knowledge of safety requirements and applicable OSHA, DOT, and New York State Code Rule requirements and ascertains that all personnel have adequate knowledge of the same
  • Provides adequate authority and resources to responsible parties
  • Develops and implements consistent accountability procedures
  • Develops goals, budgets, and cost controls
  • Encourages all employees to meet production goals safely
  • Maintains incident and injury reports
  • Reviews all loss control activities annually (or when needed) to evaluate effectiveness
  • Plans and prepares for emergencies
  • Establishes medical programs including limited on-site and other medical care
  • Informs all employees of the procedures to follow in case of an injury or illness
